Meet Josiah

Josiah is excited to share some of his story through our In-Depth Profiles, a NWAE project that empowers teens to speak directly to potential adoptive families. Learn more about In-Depth Profiles.

Can teach you about: Beyblades
Favorite snack: Nutella
Always up for: Football
Hopes for the future: Joining the football team

If you’ve ever been curious about playing Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magic: The Gathering, Josiah is your guy. He’s keen on teaching people the ins-and-outs of card games, the aforementioned being his favorites, and new ways to play, for example standard decks v. commander decks. When he’s not strategizing, Josiah loves playing football and dodgeball.

Chace and Josiah share a little bit about playing Beyblades, Josiah's favorite hobby.

Heading into the 5th grade, Josiah is an outgoing student who does well, particularly in math where he’s always exceeding expectations.

A friendly kid, Josiah’s caseworker appreciates how talkative he is when you get on a topic he really enjoys. She adds that he’ll always “tell you all the details that he can to ensure you understand.”

Josiah loves to tell a good joke and get people laughing.

Josiah is clearly a compassionate kid. His current foster parent describes the way they “appreciate Josiah’s enthusiasm for learning new things and meeting new people,” adding: "I also enjoy the big smiles he gives everyone when he first sees them."

While he’s open to meeting new families, it’s important for Josiah to maintain the significant relationships he has with his grandma, sister, cousins, and other family members.

Josiah’s team is eager to hear from all families as long as they acknowledge and support the importance of the relationships he has in his life. If you want to learn more about who Josiah is and what he’s looking for in his future, please reach out. We’re excited to find him the adoptive family he deserves.

Beyond the Profile: Josiah's the type of kid to make any situation fun. He's full of energy, excitement, and enthusiasm and is quick to share with you everything that he loves and everything that's important to him. From our very first conversation, he immediately let me in and had no reservations in being his full, authentic self—which is this charismatic kid you see here! I'm hopeful that we can connect Josiah with a family who will provide him the support he's looking for (and maybe learn his mastered trade of playing Beyblades, too!).
