It’s hard not to notice how whip smart Lucien is. He’s an incredibly creative and intelligent kid who can really do wonders with a bunch of Legos. He has built some incredible structures out of those little colored blocks and is always proud to show them off to anyone who is interested. His ability to follow complicated instructions in order to create something intricate and beautiful is admirable.

His other passions in life include dining, movie theaters, computers, and shopping. When he is visited by the adults in his life, Lucien will inevitably ask to journey out to the theater, a restaurant, or out to shop. Lucien’s favorite restaurant is Panda Express and he has emphatically reported that he could eat orange chicken and white rice for every single meal.

Video games are a great motivator for Lucien, who enjoys spending time playing on the computer or his Xbox. Lucien has a great mind for technology and really understands it. He’ll gladly tell the people in his life all about his new favorite character from a video game or a Marvel superhero movie. Actually, he’s usually rocking his favorite character on his clothing, leaving no questions as to who he’s looking up to at the time. As we are all getting more and more used to connecting online, Lucien has found a lot of joy in online gaming, especially on platforms like Twitch.

Dabs and poses were popular choices, as Lucien is quick to ham it up in front of the camera.

Currently in the 8th grade, Lucien excels in technology based classes, and he’s doing well in school in general. An adoptive family who is academically driven and excited to support and guide Lucien in his studies will be such a great benefit for him.

Lucien is also an exceptionally skilled artist who spends a lot of time drawing. When he sits down to put pencil to paper, he is able to create excellent and inspirational works of art. Not only is art a way for Lucien to express himself, it is a way for him to have some time to himself and reflect and relax. The other way Lucien likes to relax and have fun? Reading. Books are a hugely important part of Lucien’s life. He loves to read and can be entertained for hours by books.

Lucien is very close to a couple of his biological family members and would really like to remain in contact with them. His future adoptive family should support and encourage these significant relationships in his life.

Lucien's social worker says he's got a great sense of humor.

Getting outside and being active for at least a little bit each day has a really positive influence on Lucien. An adoptive family who prioritizes health, happiness, and a bit of physical activity would be great for Lucien.

Lucien would do well with a family who can provide him with guidance, support, and a lot of love. Having a strong father figure in Lucien’s life would be really beneficial as well. Lucien responds well to positive rewards and appreciates a family who can openly communicate with honesty and encouragement. A family who is experienced and can commit to Lucien throughout his life will be the best match for this great kid.

Beyond the Profile: When I think about a kid who is hilarious and creative and quick-thinking on his feet, my mind instantly goes to Lucien. While working together to create his In-Depth Profile, it was just a nonstop loop of fun, jokes, silliness, and spontaneity. Lucien constantly made me smile and never failed to include me in our creation process and wanting to get to know each other more. So many of his great qualities shined through in our brief times of collaborating! Rewatching his video makes me laugh and laugh – I think (and so does he) that it captures something so perfect about his essence, energy, and personality. There’s so much to love! I’m really hopeful we can find Lucien the adoptive family he deserves.
