Meet Nora

Nora is excited to share some of her story through our In-Depth Profiles, a NWAE project that empowers teens to speak directly to potential adoptive families. Learn more about In-Depth Profiles.

Can impersonate: Mrs. Doubtfire
Passionate about: Singing
Loves: Going to church
Wants: A supportive adoptive family

Sometimes, the best thing to do is put on some music and dance, singing along at the top of your lungs. Nora gets that. She likes to do all of those things, often and with her full passion behind it. Nora has a few other key hobbies as well, of course. She is always ready to watch a movie, play a video game, or explore her creative side by painting or coloring.

Nora says, "I hope I get a family. And I know that I'll be successful."

With a great sense of humor and an incredibly endearing personality, Nora will be such a great fit for the right adoptive family. She has made great progress on her personal goals over the past year and is excited to be adopted by a family who will continue to positively encourage and guide her toward her future goals and dreams.

A thing that Nora most loves: singing! So she wants to include another video where she sings the hit song from Descendents 3, called The Queen of Mean. Related note: Nora's also the Queen of Nice.

Currently in the 8th grade, Nora just loves school and loves to be in class. Through extracurricular activities in school, Nora has found herself enjoying taking on leadership roles whenever she can. As she continues to make progress in school, an adoptive family who is education-focused and will help her tackle the tough stuff will be really beneficial for her.

Nora says, "what I want to find from an adoptive family is that they will love me for who I am."

An adoptive family who will help Nora continue to find positive strategies to help with those harder days and who will help her carve out time and space for herself when need be will be a great addition to her life. Nora would do best in a family with one or two moms or maternal figures for her to look up to and learn through. She would do well as the only child in a home or in a home with older sisters! Nora is transgender; an open and welcoming LGBTQ+ friendly home will be essential. Nora also considers herself a Christian and would do well in a family who likes going to church.

Nora is an incredibly endearing kid who deserves the right adoptive family. We are excited to find that for her.

Beyond the Profile: I found myself completely inspired by Nora and how kind and talented she is. When we first met up, Nora brought up her love of singing and dancing, and I didn’t quite realize the extent of it. Nora has a few song-and-dance routines down like a true professional -- you should see her “Single Ladies” moves! While talking to us about the songs that really move her, Nora shared that she’s a big fan of Lady Gaga, especially the song “Born This Way” because it really resonates with her as a young girl who has not always been accepted for who she is. Nora is amazing. I’m really eager for her to find the right adoptive family.
