Self-proclaimed: Jokester
Loves to be: Chatty and inquisitive
Known for: His friendly, kind heart
Looking for: An adoptive family

A sweet, caring teenager with a big, friendly heart, Jessy likes to live a rich and active life. To Jessy, life is a big opportunity to wonder and engage. He loves to ask questions and be inquisitive with those around him. A listening ear is a good fit with Jessy. If there’s an activity to do, you can bet Jessy is up for it. He loves being involved in as much as he can – everything from playing outside to learning new life skills. Boating, swimming, biking, running, you name it. He is able to connect with youth and adults of all ages and brings a genuineness to his interactions.

Jessy shined with the opportunity to create his own profile. See how it came together!

Jessy has a great sense of humor – “hilarious” is the word used most often by those who know him – as he’s regularly cracking jokes, being goofy, or trying to make others laugh and smile. He likes to playfully rib and joke with those he’s close with and enjoys fun banter. He’s even challenged his caseworker to run a 5k with him! That fun-loving spirit shines through in all of the videos he created for his own In-Depth Profile.

Jessy’s interests range from reading, where he can discover fascinating worlds and get to know new characters between the pages of a book; to cheering on Northwest sports teams (Seahawks games are a Sunday staple and he also enjoys watching hockey); to being an animal lover (dogs and snakes are his favorite). He is an optimistic guy who remains in high spirits throughout the ups and downs of life.

Currently in his senior year of high school, Jessy enjoys attending school and all of his classes. He’s able to keep himself accountable and complete his work. He’s doing a great job.

Jessy has taken sign language classes in high school and has a real knack for it.

Jessy does well when he receives plenty of nurturing attention. He has made positive strides both socially and emotionally, and is very proud of the progress he has made. In a home where he receives clear communication, positive attention, and individual freedom, Jessy does his best.

Anybody who meets Jessy really likes him and tends to stay connected with him. He’s got such a great personality. Previously, he has bonded with a Big Brother mentor, as well as teachers at his school. Jessy is particularly close to his grandmother, who lives near him and is a very important person in his life. It will be essential for a future family to support this bond for him.

One of Jessy’s main goals in life is to be adopted, even sharing that it would be a “dream come true.” As a teenager in foster care, he still holds on to hope that the right family, and home, is out there for him to continue growing up in. Jessy has made great strides in processing his thoughts and feelings and would appreciate a future family who encourages him to continue doing so. Jessy would do best in a family with older siblings (or around his age), or where he can be the only child. Having caregivers around to regularly engage with him, and his many thoughts and questions, would fit him really well in a home.

If you are a patient, committed family who would welcome this fun teen into your home, we would like to hear from you! Jessy deserves to find a permanent family.
