Meet Jessa

Jessa is excited to share some of her story through our In-Depth Profiles, a NWAE project that empowers teens to speak directly to potential adoptive families. Learn more about In-Depth Profiles.

Passionate about: Animals
Favorite class: Choir
Dreams of: Working on a farm
Wants to find: A permanent family

Jessa is a teenager who will jump at any chance to go out and be a part of the world – she loves to get pampered, go to the movies, or just meet up with her friends. Jessa really enjoys an opportunity to participate in any activity that makes her feel extraordinary. One thing that makes Jessa especially happy and content is spending time with animals. She feels deeply connected to animals of all kinds and wanted to showcase her passion with a video tour of the Black Dawg Farm Sanctuary.

Jessa loves getting her hair and nails done, but she's certainly not afraid to get out either. One of her happy places is an outdoor wildlife viewing park where she can endlessly learn and explore. The beaten walking paths, the equipment to play around on, and the general familiarity and comfort of being outside are all features that Jessa appreciates deeply. Grabbing an innertube and going to float on the water with some pals is something Jessa absolutely loves to do. Jessa also loves to organize, play games, watch TV, listen to pop music, and just hang out with those who are closest to her.

Currently in the 9th grade, Jessa’s favorite subject is choir. Jessa does well in all of her classes, and is loved by her teachers and peers. In fact, pretty much everyone who gets to know Jessa loves her fun spirit, inquisitive nature and open honesty. One of her advocates, Amari, was excited to contribute to Jessa's In-Depth Profile by getting to talk about their special bond.

Amari talks about her special bond with Jessa and all of the things she loves about her.

We know she loves animals but Jessa is especially excited about horses. She’s happy to regularly spend time with the loving creatures where she has learned so much about empathy, care, and responsibility. Jessa is really into all animals and would would be thrilled to be adopted by a family who has pets or who is willing to get one or two for her to love and nurture. Cats, dogs, hamsters, farm animals—doesn’t matter to Jessa!

Jessa is a really friendly kid who would benefit from the time, support, and care of an adoptive family. She wants to be adopted but really is looking for a parent (she’d love to have a mom!) who can meet her where she’s at and be patient with her as she transitions into a new home. Her team is eager to hear from adoptive families with a strong maternal influence and maybe an older sister for Jessa to look up to, though she would do fine as an only child as well. Jessa will benefit from a family who can provide her with good boundaries, lots of gentle quality time, plenty of one-on-one attention, and continued encouragement throughout her life.

If you can envision Jessa in your family, please reach out to us! We can't wait to help find her the adoptive family she deserves.
