Meet Davonte

Davonte is really great at expressing himself, and in turn, making those around him feel valued and appreciated. He is adept at telling his friends why he enjoys spending time with them and will effortlessly express his appreciation by detailing the ways in which they are a good friend to him. Davonte is very athletic and especially likes skateboarding, playing football, and soccer, but his true passion is basketball. Davonte plays on his high school basketball team and recently got to play in a really important game! Studying NBA player moves is one way Davonte gains his skills and for his In-Depth Profile he wanted to show off his favorite players’ signature shots.

In school, Davonte is eager to learn and does well in school with some support from his teachers. He is conscientious and takes his time learning new information and retaining new concepts. Davonte likes school and thrives on structure; the familiarity of school and his routine on campus is a positive in his life.

Even outside of the classroom, Davonte thrives with routine. Davonte appreciates knowing what will happen the next day, and really likes to be informed if anything will change or is out of the ordinary. Patience and clarity are important to Davonte and help him feel comfortable and secure.

Davonte would really like to be adopted by a patient and loving family. Davonte has regular Skype visits with his two biological siblings who live out of state and would appreciate a family who can help nurture and support those bonds throughout his life. Davonte would do well with a family who also enjoys playing sports, spending time outside, and will provide him with the kind of consistency and structure he is used to. Davonte is goofy, playful, social, and kind. Anyone would be lucky to have Davonte as a part of their family.
