Meet Alyssa

A potential family is being explored for this child. It is the practice of The State of Alaska to continue recruitment until an adoption has finalized. If you think your family might be a good fit for this child, we encourage you to inquire with the awareness that the social worker may prioritize families who have already been identified.

Imaginative and expansively creative, Alyssa is an artist who can enjoy herself in any medium, from drawing to dance. She is passionate about the things that interest her, not only the arts, but science and nature too. Alyssa loves gardening, and can tell you all about germination and photosynthesis. The creepy-crawly things that live outdoors don’t bother her—in fact, she’s so interested in bugs that she wants to be an entomologist one day. Butterflies are her favorite. She will gladly reel off a string of fun facts, and just when you think she couldn’t possibly know anything else about them, she’ll surprise you with more information! Alyssa loves the ocean and takes joy in swimming, camping, hiking, biking, sledding, and just being active outdoors.

Those who know her well describe Alyssa as relentlessly hopeful, confident that good will happen and that there is a family and a place for her. She will thrive with gentle, engaged parents who can balance structure and nurture, and help her connect with others.

If you can see this great kid in your family, please reach out to us! We're excited to find her the adoptive family she deserves.
