Cordell is drawn to the water; its unexplored depths, its beauty, the creatures that live within it. He loves to fish, his latest passion is magnet fishing, and would be so excited for his family to enjoy the hobby as well. Even when he isn’t fishing, Cordell loves to just explore the outdoors. He seems at his happiest when he is connecting with nature.
A big animal guy, Cordell really seems to connect with them. He has stated that he’d love an adoptive family who has pets, or who would get a pet. Cordell is currently most interested in a pet bird!
Cordell is very kind and gentle toward other humans as well. He’s a great advocate for his peers and has a big heart. He’s a natural sharer and tries hard to make connections with those around him. Cordell plays well with other kids his age and responds positively to adult supervision. He thrives in a healthy one on one situation, both academically and when playing with others.
Currently in the 7th grade, Cordell is best able to focus in a small classroom environment with a teacher or mentor who can spend time with him. With the current changes to school pivoting to a virtual learning style, Cordell has been able to keep up and looks forward to his video calls every week.
Building and maintaining strong connections with counselors, teachers, and other adults has always been one of Cordell’s strong suits. Cordell would prefer to be an only child, though his social worker believes he would also do well with older siblings. A patient adoptive family who is supportive, outdoorsy, and loving would be ideal.
If you can see Cordell in your family, please reach out to us! We’re excited to find him the adoptive family he deserves.
