Secret talent: Story telling
Really loves: His bunny
Loves to: Travel
Looking for: A permanent home

There are many examples of Colen being a complete innovator, which speaks to his curiosity. He enjoys knowing the “why” of everything. Why do certain things happen? and how do certain things work? Colen is incredibly creative and is fascinated by the natural world.

Always quick to smile or laugh, Colen is a silly kid with a great sense of humor. With his bright and expressive personality, it’s hard to be around Colen without a smile on your face. Colen is also very inquisitive and, as we’ve mentioned, curious.

Now what you absolutely should know about Colen is this: he’s a plant lover! He has a room filled to the brim with various plants, surrounding him with living things. Colen has long been a plant enthusiast and likes to track the life of a vegetable from seed to consumption. Colen is very involved in planting a seed, watching it grow, and picking the food when it’s all ready.

Quote from Colen''s foster parent that says: Colen, he loves the outdoors. He''s adventurous. He likes to explore and he likes nature. He likes caring for plants, he likes caring for animals.

Currently in the 8th grade, Colen’s classroom environment continues to work well for him. His favorite subject is science, where he can study and learn about the things that most interest him. He’s made tremendous progress in his reading skills! Having a strong teacher or mentor to support and work with Colen helps him be successful in class.

Another thing Colen loves is story telling. He has a great imagination and enjoys coming up with all sorts of fantastic characters and making up adventures for them. He might even become an author someday!

As he’s gotten older, Colen has become very self-reflective and is eager to take on the responsibilities that come with being a teenager. When it comes to his ideal adoptive family, Colen hopes to find a local Washington home that ideally has no other kids.

He’s a kid who beats to his drum and is much more of an individualist than the kind of kid to follow a crowd. Parent(s) with strong personalities and who is patient, warm, and kindhearted would be a great fit for Colen. The best fit for Colen would be an adoptive family that is very experienced with children and can raise Colen with the kind of parenting that will help him thrive. Colen’s creative mind and drive to discover everything there is to know about everything is so unique and cool. Please let us know if you are a family who can help Colen continue learning and exploring. Colen would do best in a family as an only child where he gets a lot of one-on-one attention, or where he is the younger sibling of much older children. A family without pets, as Colen is just starting to discover how to care for them, would also be the best fit for him.

Colen is a great kid who is looking for a permanent family to love, support, and guide him throughout his life. If you are interested in learning more about Colen, please let us know. We are specifically looking for families in WA state, or very close to WA for Colen and are excited to find the right fit for this loving plant enthusiast.
