Meet Heather

Crafty, kind, and caring—these are just a few of the words that can be used to describe Heather! She also loves to curl up with a good book.

When it’s time to get moving, you’re likely to find Heather dancing and practicing her moves. If she isn’t at dance class, she loves jumping on trampolines and riding bikes. She is an active teen.

One of her favorite activities is making all sorts of arts and crafts. Recently, she created a painting that was featured in Seattle Children's Hospital's newsletter and calendar!

A big socialite, Heather really appreciates spending time with her friends. She is very outgoing and loves making new friends, too! Heather currently attends youth group at church and especially loves to play games with her friends there.

In school, Heather does well with the right academic supports in place. Her favorite class is currently bio med, which she says is hard, but really fascinating!

Heather is an understanding and well-spoken teen. She desires to be accepted and cared for unconditionally and wants to be adopted into a home where she will be, in her words, “loved and cared for.”

Heather has a good relationship with her younger brother who is currently moving towards guardianship in his current foster home. They have a good relationship and have visits. It is important that families help Heather maintain that connection.

Heather’s team is looking forward to hearing from families of any configuration who are ready to welcome this thoughtful, artsy teen. Her team is especially hopeful to hear from families who can be strong medical advocates for Heather, and help and support Heather's needs and services.
