Meet Colsen

Colsen loves being outside and especially loves taking walks with the people he cares about. He loves to hold things, whether that's someone's hand, or a small toy or object he can carry with him. Colsen also enjoys listening to rap music. A big foodie, he loves burgers at McDonald's and anything sweet.

Colsen has several communication strategies that help him. He will take your hands and lead you to where he wants to go, put your hands on something like a doorknob if he wants you to open a door. He will vocalize to express his emotions when he is excited, frustrated, etc.

Colsen likes going to school and does well with lots of supports and services in place to ensure he can continue to grow, develop, and learn. With individualized support and a classroom that supports his needs, Colsen has been able to adapt to the routines of his classroom and his staff well.

Families able to help Colsen maintain his important relationship with his brother and extended family would be in his best interest. Colsen and his brother have had a relationship since birth. His extended family enjoys hearing updates about him and want to see him in a safe and secure home that can meet his needs.

Colsen would do best in a family that will help him when he is feeling overwhelmed. Colsen does well with redirection and attention from his caregivers.

Colsen's team is looking forward to hearing from families where Colsen can be the only child in the home, or a home where he is the youngest child, and there is ample time a family can provide him. He requires a high level of supervision, support, and affection.
