Meet Dalanni

Special Note: Plan now adoption!

Dalanni's plan has now changed to adoption!

Meet Dalanni! This sweet, spunky youth is bound to be found anywhere there are pink and sparkly things! Dalanni enjoys all the stereotypically “girly” things life has to offer, including stuffed animals and her Barbies. Dalanni is imaginative and creative and has expressed interest in attending a local art magnet school.

Energetic and active, Dalanni also loves having frequent opportunities to get her energy out. She loves the water and loves to go swimming. She also enjoys one-on-one time and jumps at the chance to go do fun social things with the people in her life. Dalanni has many important ties to her community and needs a family who can help her keep her local connections and relationships.

In school, Dalanni does well with extra supports and individualized attention. She’s not much of an early bird, so she does well with help from her caregivers to get up and get going! It would be in her best interest to find a family that can use fun and engaging strategies to keep her interest and focus on learning and school. Understanding and encouragement for Dalanni will go a long way, as well as access to tutoring or other academic supports.

Dalanni has important connections with her biological siblings and other family and chosen family that need to be continued as she grows up. She has regular in-person visits and phone calls with some of these people. Dalanni has some built-in supports for her and her permanent family, which is pretty amazing!

Caregivers who can help support Dalanni and provide her with the structure that she needs, while also allowing her some flexibility and the chance to choose things for herself will be wonderful for her. Dalanni does well when she has emotional support and patience from a family as well as from other service providers who can offer her that support. She will benefit from a permanent family who can advocate for her needs within systems and who has the time and interest to be actively involved in her academic and therapeutic process.

Dalanni will do best in a home with experienced parents where she can be the youngest or only child. She enjoys pets and activities, so a family who is active and likes to get out and do things with kids would be a good fit for her. Ideally, she would have at least one parent who is home full time and has plenty of time to provide support around Dalanni’s daily routines.

Dalanni’s adoptive family does not need to be from a particular race or culture but needs to be encouraging and supportive of Dalanni developing her own identity, exploring her heritage and what it means to her.
