Fraternal twins, KIRA and KENO (4/98), and their older brother, LARRY (8/96) are delightful children who came into foster care in 2005. They are not yet legally free, but there is consent to search for a committed, nurturing adoptive family.

Kira is a sweet, rather quiet girl whose friendly personality becomes apparent once she has a chance to get acquainted with new folks and new situations. She enjoys school and is described by her teachers as a hard worker who really wants to do well. Athletic and tall for her age, Kira enjoys playing team sports, particularly basketball and soccer.

Keno is a quiet but energetic boy who is respectful and cooperative. He has a smile that will light up a room. He enjoys riding his bike, playing basketball, and skateboarding. He has had fun participating in Boy Scouts for the past year and has enjoyed meeting different kids and engaging in a variety of activities. Although he is the same age as his sister, Keno is considered to be the baby of the sibling group. While Keno has made significant academic gains in school over the past year, his self-confidence is still lacking, and he benefits from having extra supports and encouragement in the classroom.

Larry is described as a very loving boy who is kind and affectionate, and loves to please people. Larry would rather be busy that just sitting around. And he is often very helpful doing chores around the house. For fun, he likes to ride his bike and play football. Larry has also been involved with Boy Scouts over the past year. He benefits greatly from have good adult and peer role models in his life. While Larry is cooperative and making gains in the classroom, he has some learning challenges due to mild developmental disabilities and has an individualized education plan.

Kira, Keno, and Larry, who are the youngest of eight siblings who came into foster care in 2005, have especially close ties to one another. They live close to each other, too; Keno and Larry live in one foster home and Kira lives with another foster family nearby. They are able to attend the same school and have regular opportunities to engage with one another.

Having adoptive parents willing to participate with them in family counseling during the adoption transition could be a wonderful way for the family to demonstrate its love and commitment to the children. All three are currently involved in individual and group therapies to help them deal with issues of grief, loss, and abandonment, learn good personal safety skills, and strengthen their boundaries.

Kira, Keno, and Larry would fit best in a household where they could be the only children, at least for the foreseeable future. The ideal adoptive parent(s) will have a good grasp of the needs of children who have experienced early abuse and neglect, and who need extra academic supports in school. These darling siblings will bring lots of fun, playfulness, and joy to the family who will claim them as its own!
