If you have completed an adoption homestudy and would like to have your information forwarded to this child's worker, contact us.

TIM (7/95) has great strengths. He’s articulate, charming, bright, and persuasive. He has a sense of humor. He enjoys working with his hands and has the aptitude to rebuild electronics. He also has an insatiable desire to barter and negotiate a variety of things. Tim is interested in sports, computers, and music (whether listening to music or playing his recorder). Now in the sixth grade, his favorite subject is math, and he has passed all three sections of the state’s Washington Assessment of Student Learning! Tim has shown that he has the ability to be successful and productive, and having a strong male role model in his life will most likely be a key to helping him strengthen that ability.

Tim’s worker is looking for a nurturing, loving family with committed, emotionally available parent(s) able to provide a stable, safe home environment with clear rules and firm limits. Such structure helps him feel more confident and secure. Tim needs to be given opportunities to emulate the positive attributes and characteristics of caring parent(s) who believe in him and want to have a positive impact on his life. More than anything, though, he needs unconditional love and acceptance.

Frequent moves in foster care have been difficult, but school counselors, principals, and teachers have often been important, reliable, trustworthy adults in his life. When he has had such support, he has been able to move forward. Tim needs solid guidance and help in becoming comfortable talking about his thoughts and feelings. When things are going well for Tim, you may find that he has been named Student of the Week in school or received some other accolade. In the classroom, he has extra academic and behavioral supports. Tim continues to benefit, too, from his participation in counseling, where the focus currently is on helping to prepare him for adoption.

While Tim is hoping for dad and a mom, Tim would also do well with a single dad. Tim needs to be an only child in his adoptive family or the youngest of significantly older siblings who can be good role models.
