TONY (3/92) longs to have a permanent family with a kind, patient ‘dad figure’ who will be involved in his everyday life. Such a dad figure could be a single dad, part of the extended family of a single parent mom, or the father in a two-parent home. A teenage boy of Inupiat-Eskimo heritage, he is very gregarious with peers but very quiet and shy around most adults. Tony loves to spend time outdoors alone or with other kids camping, riding bikes, and swimming. He also enjoys tinkering and taking his bicycle apart. While living in his village, Tony was involved in helping with subsistence activities. He is also artistic and enjoys drawing.

Tony, who is now in ninth grade, is a good student. Because he can be too much of a perfectionist when it comes to his school work (he has been noted to make corrections several times, even when he has the correct answers0, he has support to assist him in processing during testing to alleviate frustrations.

Tony has a condition that interferes with his ability to process information. He also has high energy and difficulty focusing, both of which are responding to behavioral tools and other interventions. Tony also has as a mild hearing loss.

Tony, who came into foster care in 1994, has three older siblings who are all young adults now. He will, of course, want to continue to have some contact with them as he is growing up.

Tony needs a family that will readily welcome him into their home and hearts, while giving him the time and the space he may need to begin to trust and open up.

Subsidy and Purchase of Service may be available.
